FARC DELAYS START OF PEACE TALKS, AGAIN

The peace talks, between the Government of Colombia and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, the FARC, have been delayed again.They were to commence, in Oslo, in second week of October, but were later moved to the 15th. Now we have another delay.

Apparently, getting the peace conference started is complicated;

(1) The FARC negotiators all have multiple aliases, and all of these must be temporarily suspended, so as to allow them to travel to Europe.

(2) Weather problems have been blamed for travel delays of FARC leaders.

(3) The FARC has demanded, at the last minute, that a Dutch radical, who is not a FARC member, be added to the FARC delegation, and the Government of Colombia, sensing that this addition was intended to confer international status to the FARC, has flatly refused.

As soon as these issues are resolved, and a new date is announced, we will publish the information.
