HIS PARTNER IN CRIME, MODI, NOW IN UK CUSTODY, WILL ANTIGUA NOW BE FORCED TO EXTRADITE CHOKSI TO INDIA ?

Choksi and Modi, Partners in Crime

Nariv Modi, the nephew of the fugitive money launderer, fraudster and India's Most Wanted career criminal, Mehul Choksi, has been taken in custody in the UK, and extradition proceedings are expected. Choksi & Modi are accused of a boatload of major financial crimes, including the $12.8bn fraud perpetrated upon Punjab National Bank.

Both Choksi's attorneys, and Antigua's government officials, who have played a dilatory tango with his extradition from Antigua since last August, may now start feeling outside pressure to finally rid themselves of their most public fugitive, before more international reputation damage set in. Indian media is saying that Choksi's extradition case in Antigua will now move forward, and voters are asking tough questions in government.

Whether Choksi will ever see the inside on a criminal courtroom in India ? We cannot say, but we will be watching.
