Readers who have not yet viewed Ken Rijock being interviewed on the Al Jazeera program "The Database," can watch the complete program here https://www.youtube.com/watch?/v=X18kBie9trk .
It is also available on the Al Jazeera website here if you prefer not finding it on YouTube.
The program details a number of UK cases where individuals and entities misclassified as terrorists by World-Check took action to correct the record, after they had accounts closed by their banks, and the outcome of those cases. I recommend the program, which is 47 minutes in length, to all compliance officers who are charged with onboarding new clients.
I note that all the errors and outdated information mentioned in the program occurred well after the company was under new ownership and management, and long after yours truly and the original staff, who had insured that information accuracy through quality control was a priority, had left or been made redundant. Sometimes a small, integrated team who has a vital interest in the validity of the information they are offering to the public, can do a better job than those in a large anonymous corporate environment.
Updating information, especially when it comes to terrorist financing, requires constant attention, and we see the results here, when there is a failure to keep it current on a daily basis.
