GOVERNMENT AGREES TO DISMISS CASE AGAINST ALI SADR'S CO-DEFENDANT

The US Attorney's Office in New York has responded to the Court's request for its position on Ali Sadr Hasheminejad's co-defendant, BAHRAM KARINI. It has requested that he have the charges against him Dismissed with Prejudice. A copy of the letter appears below.

Again we must state the obvious, or not so obvious, about the case. Were the charges really dismissed due to rampant Brady violations, and intentional withholding of evidence, or is this some sort of reward for Sadr's continued cooperation on a grand scale ? We cannot say, but the issue will continue to be raised. Perhaps the subsequent indictment of major new defendants will provide an answer. Meanwhile, we must regard the outcome of the case with suspicion that we are definitely not getting the whole story.
