CANADIAN PARLIAMENT PUBLISHES REPORT ON CONFRONTING MONEY LAUNDERING AND TERRORIST FINANCING



Canada's House of Commons, Standing Committee on Finance, has published a 90-page report  entitled Confronting Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing: Moving Canada Forward. 
  
The report covers Beneficial Ownership, PEPs, the Canadian legal Profession,White Label ATMs, the real estate sector, Structuring to avoid reporting, Armored Cars,  High-value Goods Dealers and Auction Houses, Securities Dealers, Information Sharing, De-Risking, Bulk Cash and Bearer Instruments, GTOs, Trade transparency Units, Virtual Currency, MSBs,  SARs , Sanctions Lists, and other topics.

An outstanding feature are is the  list of Recommendations, thirty-two in number. read that first, before going into the chapters on the topics. This is recommended for all Canadian readers, and compliance officers whose customers trade with, do business in, or are exposed to money laundering or terrorist financing, originating in, or transiting, Canada.
