POLICE OFFICER WHO PULLED DOMINICA MP FROM HIS CAR AND DETAINED HIM FOR SKERRIT'S POLITICAL PURPOSES IDENTIFIED

Sgt. Michael Sebastian

Dominica is reeling from an incident where MP Daniel Lugay was illegally pulled from the automobile in which he and Opposition Leader Lennox Linton were traveling, and arbitrarily detained and taken from the scene by several armed men, without legal cause or reason, in violation of his human and civil rights, in a purely political act intended to intimidate the elected leader. This is POLICE SERGEANT MICHAEL RICHARD SEBASTIAN, who was responsible for this violent act. Sebastian is the personal bodyguard of PM Skerrit, and he has absolutely no right to detain any of the elected members of Skerrit's Opposition party. This was a political stunt, plain and simple.

Lennox Linton, as he stated and which appears in an statement that he made on Facebook, attempted to learn upon what grounds MP Lugay was being arrested or detained, was threatened with arrest by the same individual. You are invited to go on Facebook to review the incident in further detail.

We previously covered this story earlier, in an article entitled Dominica moves closer to Dictatorship Status, which appeared on Sunday.

Dominica MP Daniel Lugay
Welcome to Dominica's Secret Police, who continue to threaten and intimidate the peaceful protestors who have assembled outside Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit's obscenely expensive ($64,000 a month rent) Presidential Mansion, to demand that the government account for this unauthorized and totally unnecessary luxury, paid for by the people of Dominica.
