US REFUSES TO GRANT IMMUNITY TO JOSEPH MUSCAT FOR PROVIDING SUBSTANTIAL ASSISTANCE

In a development that betrays the obsession that Malta's current leaders have with obtaining favorable treatment for their disgraced leader, the former Prime Minister, Joseph Muscat, our sources in the United States have reported that a minor American request for assistance was recently forwarded to the Maltese government. The response was surprising; Malta was only going to grant the request only if the US would give Muscat immunity from prosecution for money laundering crimes. We find that response both disturbing and telling. I personally find that to be the attitude of a government that is morally bankrupt.

Needless to say, the representative of the United States declined to accept that offer. What it shows is that the Government of Malta IS the Labour Party, which is basically looking now to practice damage control, to minimize the legal consequences which will eventually befall their corrupt leader, who is under investigation in several countries. He will not be getting the proverbial Get-out-of-Jail-Free Card, and justice will, whether he likes it or not, be served.
