DETAILS IN THE MIAMI COCAINE CASE SHOW ANDREW FAHIE LAID THE GROUNDWORK FOR FACILITATING DRUG SHIPMENTS THROUGH THE BVI

The members of the new BVI National Unity Government

Andrew Fahie's statement that he was the victim of Entrapment by the UK & US does not square with the information included in the affidavit filed with the US District Court. He undertook to take several active steps to facilitate the safe passage and drug shipments through the British Virgin Islands. That demonstrates criminal intent, in my book.

Let's look at them:

(1) Fahie stated that he wanted low-purity shipments of cocaine to be transferred into the BVI, and be seized by local law enforcement, so that he woulds look like he was taking a bite out of cocaine crime. In truth and fact, he and the port director, his co-defendant, were to protect cocaine shipments into the islands for safe storage, and outward bound shipment. This demonstrates his intent to set up a complex criminal operation.

(2) Fahie engineered the joinder of both BVI port and airport facilities into the sole control of the port director, so that she could protect them. We must note that this constitutes prior planning.

(3) Fahie employed barges, supposedly to interdict drug shipments transiting BVI territorial waters, but actually to fail to alert law enforcement to smuggling, and to chart and facilitate the path of cocaine shipments.

This does not look like the acts of an innocent politician entrapped into working with criminals; he is committing affirmative acts to help smugglers, and some of those matters were taking place before his involvement with the DEA undercover operation. he was planning on  supporting criminal activity in advance of being contacted to protect these specific loads of drugs.

This evidence will make it extremely difficult to claim Entrapment; he was not passive about his role in facilitating drug shipments, and his active conduct, and advance planning, defeat any effort to prove the elements of that affirmative defense.
