AMERICAN JUDGE DECLINES TO GIVE EARLY RELEASE FROM PRISON TO CONVICTED CHINESE BILLIONAIRE & DOMINICA UN DIPLOMAT

A US District Judge in New York has denied NG LAP SENG, the Chinese billionaire who bought a diplomatic passport from corrupt officials in Dominica, a reduction in his 5-year sentence on Compassionate Release grounds, to Home Confinement The defendant, who was convicted of seeking to bribe his fellow UN officials, in order to secure approval for a UN Conference Center in Macau he was planning to build, was seeking to be released to house arrest.

The Court held that Ng has not exhausted his Administrative Remedies with the BOP, and had not established extraordinary and compelling reasons to justify a reduction in his sentence, and release from custody, on Compassionate Release grounds, in an extremely well-prepared and extensively documented opinion, supported by citations to legal authorities.
