DOMINICAN MINISTER SAYS THOSE WHO OPPOSE FLAWED CBI PROGRAM ARE "ENEMIES OF THE STATE"

The Minister, from Dominica, of Commerce, Enterprise & Small Business Development, Roselyn Paul, has openly accused opponents of the dysfunctional Citizenship by Investment (CBI) program as "Enemies of the State." Are we living in George Orwell's 1984, where doublespeak, known in the book as as Newspeak, is the language of Dominica's governing officials? Will Thoughtcrime be the next watchword from Minister Paul ? One Opposition leader was arrested on obviously political inspired charges, which causes Country Risk to climb exponentially.

If the Skerrit government in Dominica will not consider reforming the CBI program, and eliminating entirely the Diplomatic passport feature,  then compliance officers will have no choice but to regard ALL Dominica passport holders, seeking to open accounts abroad, as possible counterfeit citizens, who really come from jurisdictions that are State Sponsors of Terrorism, and treat their efforts to commence a business relationship accordingly. Does Dominica really want its nationals to be treated in this way ? I sincerely doubt it, as only the innocent will suffer, while corrupt officials, and their co-conspirators, will continue to turn out pay-to-play passports for the usual suspects, and hide the clearly excessive fees they collect under their mattress.
