Christopher Emms, the British Blockchain/Cryptocurrency czar, who is wanted in the United States for violating American sanctions on North Korea, by teaching crypto technology to its government, and who attempted to turn Malta into The Blockchain Island, is reportedly seeking political asylum in the Russian Federation. Emms' company was Decentralized Ventures.
Emms, a British national, who resided in the United Arab Emirates, worked with the American expert Virgil Griffiths in the DPRK. Griffiths was also indicted, and has received a sentence of five years in Federal Prison for OFAC violations. Emma has been charged with Conspiracy to Violate the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). he faces a maximum twenty year sentence in the United States.
