FACING THE PRODUCTION OF EVIDENCE CONFIRMING A LIFETIME OF CORRUPTION WHILE IN OFFICE, ANTIGUA'S PM GASTON BROWNE INSULTS THE AMERICAN LAWYERS UNCOVERING IT

We try not to repeat vulgarity when covering financial crime, but in this case, we feel it is eminently necessary. Antigua's Prime Minister, GASTON BROWNE, whose decades of corruption, money laundering, thievery and fraud are about to be exposed in the §1782 proceeding in Federal Court in New York captioned Gaston Browne Antigua Corruption Application, has chosen to hurl insults at the prominent American lawyers who represent the victim.

A District Court Judge has ordered the issuance of subpoenas that are believed to result in the production of bank record proving that ten million dollars (USD$10,000,000) was illegally diverted to the control of Browne's associates and frontmen. Just as important, the subpoenas are thought to expose decades of Browne's corruption and financial crimes of several different types, and will expose his illicit conduct in a large number of matters, which resulted in unjust enrichment, due to his high office.

It is too soon to know where Browne will end up convicted, sentenced and imprisoned, due to the wide variety of criminal activities that the evidence will confirm, due to the transnational nature of the offenses, and if so, how justice will best be served, but we will be closely following all developments as they occur, in the US case, as well in the other jurisdictions where civil litigation and/or criminal indictments will be filed.
