The United States Supreme Court has denied the Petition of Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska to review the adverse decisions involving OFAC sanctions imposed upon him, pursuant to the IEEPA. Bother US District Court,  for the district of Columbia and the D.C. Court of Appeals had rejected his position.

 There's more. Last week, Deripaska was indicted in the Southern District of New York, and charged with;

(1) Conspiracy to Violate IEEPA Sanctions.

(2) Destruction of Records.

(3) Making False Statements [two counts].

Allegedly, he orchestrated a complex arrangement whereby his girlfriend came into the United States to have his children. Birth within the United States makes all such persons American citizens, with all the rights and privileges that status brings. Deripaska also was allegedly involved in prohibited financial transactions within the US. There are other co-defendants. United States vs.Deripaska et al,  case No.: 22-cr-0518 (SDNY).
