IRELAND REQUIRES VISAS FOR ALL SAINT KITTS & NEVIS AND SAINT LUCIA PASSPORT HOLDERS, INCLUDING DIPLOMATIC AND SPECIAL PASSPORTS

As the Members of the European Union move forward, to restrict the visa-free entry to the EU which has been the primary selling point for the Eastern Caribbean CBI & CIP states, the Republic of Ireland (Eire) has announced that, as of this coming Monday, 15 June 2026, all passports holders from SAINT KITTS AND NEVIS and SAINT LUCIA will be required to secure visas prior to traveling to Ireland.

What is noteworthy about the ruling, issued by the Minister for Migration, COLM BROPHY, is that it includes holders of diplomatic and special passports from those two EC states. This detail reminds us that financial criminals often illegally purchase diplomatic passports from corrupt Eastern Caribbean government officials, especially Prime Ministers, for cash, and this extra protection will close that loophole.

For those who are wondering why SKN and SLC have been particularly singled out for these tight restrictions, one need only look at the unfolding St. Kitts CBI and St. Lucia CIP scandals, to know that these two jurisdictions are no longer trusted by the global community to properly examine and approve economic passport applicants.

It is expected that other EU Members will also, individually, follow suit, and impose similar visa requirements, which are expected to pose an existential threat to all five of the CBI programs. Will consumers ignore the Caribbean altogether, when they cannot use those passports to enter Europe? We shall soon see.
