PROMINENT LAWYER RICHARD CHELTENHAM, BROTHER OF BARBADOS SUPREME COURT CHIEF JUSTICE, HAS COURT BLOCK DISCIPLINARY ACTION AGAINST HIM

You won't read about it in the Barbados press, due to censorship, but "SIR' RICHARD CHELTENHAM, a senior attorney charged with serious offenses, had a cooperating court impose an injunction upon the bar Disciplinary Committee, stopping it from proceeding with his disciplinary proceeding, which alleged major misconduct, including alleged theft of client assets. He allegedly has violated nineteen provisions of the legal profession Act.

 Cheltenham's brother is the Chief Justice of the Barbados Supreme Court,  and it has been alleged that improper and undue influence has occurred, the result being that justice will not be served, victims will not receive restitution, and there will be no accountability for a lawyer who repeatedly stole from his clients.

Cheltenham reportedly obtained an injunction from JUSTICE OLSON ALLEYNE, without presenting any evidence or grounds in support of his petition; corruption at the judicial level has been alleged. Barbados Prime Minister MIA MOTTLEY appointed Cheltenham Chairman of the Parliamentary Reform Commission, notwithstanding his pending bar discipline from 2022.

 As we have previously explained, there is a long and dark tradition in Barbados of lawyers stealing assets of their clients with impunity. Neither the corrupt courts nor the weak and conflicted Disciplinary Committee administers justice to corrupt attorneys/thieves who take real estate proceeds, estate assets, and insurance & court settlements for themselves, knowing their brother lawyers will not interfere.
