Buried deep within the FIAU website, was this interesting 82,966 administrative penalty levied upon HSBC Bank Malta plc for violations of compliance regulations. If you are a compliance officers at an EU financial institution, after reading this, you may want to raise your assessment of Country Risk on the Republic of Malta. These deficiencies constitute compliance malpractice, in my humble opinion. See for yourself:
