MALTA HAS ISSUED CBI PASSPORTS TO MANY OF THE CORRUPT RUSSIAN OLIGARCHS, THE SANCTIONED AS WELL AS THE OBSCURE

The truth is, slowly, coming out in Malta, where the names of Russian Oligarchs, both internationally sanctioned as well as obscure and unknown to regulators are surfacing as CBI passport holders, as Maltese voters universally condemn the Labour Party's sale of the country's patrimony to Russian criminal elite. Unfortunately, the PL couldn't care less about what the voters say and think.

This comment, by a Maltese reader discussing the inherent evil that the Russian Oligarchs represent, was made in response to a local media article identifying specific Oligarchs who have applied for, and/or received, Maltese IIM (CBI) passports since 2013, when the newly-installed Labour Party government began issuing Citizenship by Investment passports, many to dodgy Russians who would never pass due diligence anywhere else amongst the Members of the European Union.

"The truth is that Oligarchs need Putin as much or even more than he needs them. The thing is that without accusing anyone in particular, in most cases these Oligarchs became rich by buying State-owned companies at extremely reduced prices by paying some kind of bribe. Out of a communist state were born the new elite. These oligarchs know quite well that to exist they need Putin more than Putin needs them. If Putin is gone and in some way, a democratically honest government is created (a dream) then the free press and investigative committees will have a field day exposing them and their fraudulent acts against the Russian people. Most of them would certainly face prison. Therefore, Oligarchs sort of scratch each other´s back with Putin.... they are allowed to enjoy their billions as long as he or someone like him is there. Countries like Russia, Belarus and Ukraine would be 1000 times better had these Oligarchs not ransacked their country`s economies. The billions of fraudulent gains made by these persons were paid for by the taxpayer’s money."

Unfortunately, given that the PL methods of buying votes each National Election, through lucrative government jobs, overpaying on direct contracts, the corrupt issuance of building permits, and many other indirect ways of bribing voters, its corrupt leaders may very well be reelected shortly, and the hidden influence of Russian Oligarchs will remain under the table for the foreseeable future, notwithstanding what the Prime Minister and his Cabinet say publicly. Corruption will continue to rule in the Republic of Malta.
