RUMOURS OF AN IMMINENT LAW ENFORCEMENT ACTION AGAINST MALTA'S RAMPANT CORRUPTION AROUND MICHAELMAS PERSIST

The impending arrival of Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere may be delayed this year by Global Warming, but as we begin to get closer to Michaelmas, our sources are hearing persistent rumours, coming from abroad, of upcoming action by a foreign law enforcement agency, against corrupt present and former government officials in the Republic of Malta. Whether they be Foreign Corrupt Practises Act (FCPA) or Bribery Act violations, money laundering appears to be the vehicle chosen for enforcement.

This information, coming upon multiple verified stories about ongoing efforts by Malta's Cabinet to find a way to sack its current, and ineffectual, Prime Minister, Robert Abela, and repeated media attention concerning perjured testimony by the disgraced former PM, Joseph Muscat, appears to name both of these individuals as amongst the primary targets of the investigation. Whilst details have not been forthcoming, which is standard practise in an ongoing criminal investigation, it appears to be linked to one of Malta's most serious corruption scandals, involving the country's hospitals, and there are reportedly American companies implicated.

It would be fitting if it all comes to fruition around the time that traditional Christians celebrated Michael the Archangel, the Guardian of the Church. The Maltese, the vast majority of whom are Catholic, seem to have strayed from their moral principles since the present government came to power in. 2013.
