BARBADOS LAWYER ANDREW PILGRIM, A NAMED DEFENDANT IN U.S. RICO CASE, REPRESENTS BAJAN FUGITIVE ALEX TASKER IN DILATORY CCJ EXTRADITION PROCEEDING

News from Barbados this week, which details the continuing bogus and dilatory court proceedings filed by ALEX TASKER, who has been evading the extradition order of a Bajan court for more than two years, has revealed that his attorney in Caribbean Court of Justice appellate proceedings is ANDREW PILGRIM.The lawyer is a defendant in a pending American civil RICO case, filed in Miami, Florida against him and a number of other local attorneys in Barbados, alleging a massive probate and real estate fraud designed to steal valuable real estate from the rightful heirs, by the very lawyers charged with administering estates there. Most of the country's elite attorneys have been named as participants in the illegal scheme.

Tasker's co-defendant in the American Federal criminal case, the former Minister of Industry DONVILLE  INNISS, was convicted and served a two year sentence in the United States on multiple money laundering charges. Tasker has been delaying his extradition through the filing of supplementary proceedings, filed in bad faith and without any basis in fact or law, strictly to elude justice, with the  assistance of attorney Pilgrim. We trust that the CCJ will determine that these new filing are strictly for the purposes of delay, and that Tasker is swiftly extradited to Miami to face the charges.

The Tasker case, which has affected the reputation of PM Mia Mottley's government in its lack of adherence to the Rule of Law, and has given the country a black eye in international legal circles, requires immediate resolution. Otherwise, the relationship between the US and Barbados will decline further.  Tasker's abrupt release from custody has not gone unnoticed by legal observers.
