EUROPEAN COURT HAS PREVIOUSLY REJECTED THE EFFORTS OF PILATUS BANK TO SET ASIDE AND ANNUL THE DECISION OF THE ECB WITHDRAWING PILATUS' BANKING LICENSE

The General Court in Luxembourg, back in February 2022, rejected an action taken by Pilatus Bank to restore its banking license. The Court held that the bank could not overturn the validity of the decision at the time it was made, when its owner, Ali Sadr Hasheminejad was facing charges in the United States, and allegation of massive money laundering had been made. The General Court is the European Union's highest judicial body.

We bring this to your attention due to the continuing actions taken by Ali Sadr to obtain the restoration of the Pilatus banking license, and for damages against Malta. Questions have been raised by legal observers regarding whether the international tribunal that Sadr has brought an action in has jurisdiction to hear the case.

The pending criminal action in Malta, against the banks and its former MLRO, has been temporarily stayed, pending the taking of Discovery against an individual identified as the MLRO in the bank's London branch.
