The method of operation over at Christian Nesheim's industry publication IMMIGRATION MIGRATION INSIDER (IMI) is to acquaint prospective investors regarding specific second passport programs (Citizenship by Investment, or CBI/CIP), but only telling them part of the whole story, while failing to disclose material facts and issues which could cause them to turn away from making that six figure investment, and all the while steering them to CBI consultancies that prominently advertise in IMI, publish Infomercials on its pages, and are featured therein as competent guides to assist purchasers find what is always described as the second pasport of their dreams, which will satisfy their needs for visa-free entry into just about every significant country in the world. It's a clever hustle.
Look at IMI's treatment of the SOLOMON ISLANDS' newly unveiled CBI offering; it portrays it as a well-governed, well planned program, where the buyer will receive visa-free access to no less than 137 countries and territories. In truth and in fact:
(1) The Solomons, a constitutional monarchy, formerly a British Protectorate, have a chaotic and violent history since independence, due to ethnic and tribal disputes and differences; many experts describe it as a Failed State, prone to civil war.
(2) The Peoples' Republic of China (PRC) considers the Solomons within its Sphere of Influence, due to their close relationship; there is a mutual defense treaty between them that actually allows China to intervene with force to keep domestic order, in the event of instability. We fear that any CBI client records would most certainly end up in the hands of PRC intelligence officers.
(3) Corruption and torture are no strangers to the people of the Solomons, and there are major Human Rights issues recorded.
None of these problems was disclosed by IMI in its article, leading thee reader to believe that it represent a safe, secure and long-term investment. Nothing could be further from the truth; the country is the textbook definition of rampant, systemic instability. The sole purpose of the article is to direct unsuspecting investors to IMI's consultant sponsors and supporters; Believe its content at your peril.
