ROGER VER, known in the cyberworld as "BITCOIN JESUS,"and who was arrested earlier this year in Spain, is expected to eventually be extradited to the United States,. An indictment filed against him charges Mail Fraud and Tax Fraud alleges that he attempted to defraud the IRS close to fifty million dollars he owes, due to the Exit Tax imposed when he gave up his US citizenship, has a spotty record in the cyber industry; he once reportedly defaulted on a $47m payment he owed. He served ten months in a Federal Prison for possessing explosives without a license, and seeking to sell them; he was also a known fierce opponent of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
The fact that Ver received a CBI passport from St. Kitts, long after his felony conviction and other problems, confirms that effective due diligence does not exist in the Kittitian CIP passport sales program. Ver is but one of many individuals who never should have been sold an SKN CBI passport, and who went on to be arrested after committing serious crimes. The CBI program is fatally flawed, and must be completely reformed, in all aspects of its operation, if it is to survive.
Ver may be the poster boy for all things that are wrong with the St. Kitts CBI program, but there are, unfortunately, many others just like him, using their improperly acquired passports to commit financial crime, hide bribes & kickbacks, and launder the proceeds of crime.
