JOMIC MAATOUK, described by the sentencing judge as a lethal Weapon, when he was sentenced to five years in prison for obtaining explosives and seeking Polonium and other poisons, has been captured in Libya. He fled Malta by sea to avoid serving his sentence; his wife's body was found, and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Maatouk, who was in possession of C-4 explosives, also sought to possess Polonium 210, Ricin and Fentanyl, requesting sufficient doses to kill five victims on the Dark Web, will be extradited to Malta. We consider him to be a prime suspect in the poisoning murder of a British journalist who was following up on information disclosed to him by the noted Maltese investigative journalist, Daphne Caruana Galizia.
