HAMAS WAS DEVELOPING CRUISE MISSILES WHICH COULD THREATEN EUROPE

Perhaps the most disturbing news to come out of the Gaza war this weekend was the disclosure that special forces units of the IDF, Israel's army, seized components of what are described as cruise missile components in a tunnel under Gaza City. The photograph is said to show a warhead and rocket engine of precision advanced design, which was apparently in development by Hamas. Inasmuch as Iran is the only Middle Eastern state to  possess such technology, and since it is known to support Hamas, it is the logical supplier.

The impact of such a discovery cannot be underestimated, because not only would such advanced weapons have the ability to hit specific sites within Israel, Hamas-launched cruise missiles would threaten US military in the region, and indeed much of Europe. If this was not a sufficient reason to further strengthen American support of israel's stated goal of destroying Hamas' ability to make war, I don't know what is. The news also further supports America's program of sanctions against the Iranian ballistic missile program, for Iranian missiles smuggled into Gaza would pose a clear and present danger to the West, as Iran would have reasonable deniability for ordering Hamas to launch missile at Europe.
