DEVIN NUNES. CEO OF TRUMP MEDIA, SUES NEWS MEDIA FOR DEFAMATION, IN CONNECTION WITH ALLEGATIONS OF $8m LOAN LINKED TO RUSSIAN PEP

DEVIN NUNES, the former Congressman, now the CEO of Trump Media, has brought a civil suit in Circuit Court in Florida, against a number of media defendants, allegedly for defaming him by linking him and the company to alleged money laundering, involving an eight million dollar transaction, shown as two loans, which are said to be connected to Russian PEPs. He is claiming that the defendants acted in bad faith by publishing a number of articles they knew were untrue.

The articles cited in the Complaint assert that the money was funneled through PAXUM BANK, an offshore bank in the Commonwealth of Dominica, one of whose owners is alleged to be a Politically Exposed Person (PEP) linked to Russian President Vladimir Putin.Offshore banks in Dominica are known to operate with essentially no governmental oversight from regulators.

The Complaint features three counts: (1) DEFAMATION. (2) DEFAMATION BY IMPLICATION. (3) CONSPIRACY.

One of the attorneys is a known defamation lawyer from Virginia not admitted in Florida; Lead counsel is a Tampa lawyer who apparently specializes in Workers' Compensation cases, and owns and operates an online gaming business licensed in Mississippi. We shall be monitoring the progress of this case, due to our special interest in offshore banks located in East Caribbean tax havens, and the allegations contained in the defendants' articles, which appear to allege sanctions violations.
