APPEALS COURT DECLINES TO STAY HALKBANK CASE

The Second Circuit Court of Appeals has refused to enter an order staying the proceedings in the pending case against Halkbank. Bank counsel has sought a Writ of Mandamus, to force the trial judge to recuse himself, The District Judge had earlier denied the Bank's Motion for Recusal. Counsel has asserted that their client cannot receive a fair trial, because of statements that the Court made at a legal conference in Turkey a couple of years ago.

The appeals court entered its order on September 17, 2020.
