The SCT docket shows that all the briefs, including several from Amici Curae, were duly distributed to the Justices this week. The Oral Argument is set for January 17. The case was most likely accepted by the Court because it is of great public interest. Whether a foreign sovereign can be charged with a federal crime, under the Commercial Activities Exception, on this set of facts, is an important issue in a world where international sanctions dominate American foreign policy.
