VENEZUELA DETAINS RELIGIOUS PILGRIMS AS TERRORISTS

It looks like something right out of an old Peter Sellers comedy: a handful of Muslims from the Caribbean nation of Trinidad, religious pilgrims intending to travel to Mecca for the Hajj, in town to obtain visas, at the Saudi Embassy, are arrested by the Venezuelan intelligence Service (SEBIN), and accused of being terrorists. You cannot make this stuff up.

This week, protestors, some carrying placards that read "Free all Our Muslim Brothers in Venezuela,"
demonstrated outside the Venezuelan Embassy in Port of Spain, demanding the release of the six detainees, which include three imams. reportedly, two other non-Trinidadians are also in custody.

 Apparently, they are being kept under severe conditions, with no running water, and one mattress for a cell of fifteen inmates. I wonder what government leaders in Iran, and the Middle East, are thinking about this incident. How do religious pilgrims merit this kind of treatment ?
