The Ministry of Finance in Israel has ordered that the maximum amount that an individual can carry into the Palestinian Territory of Gaza shall hereafter be only 12,000 NIS (equivalent of USD$ 3200). It was previously 100,000 NIS ( equivalent of USD$ 27,000). This new measure was reportedly implemented due to the fact that a large number of travelers into Gaza have been moving Israeli currency (Shekels) into Gaza.
