Bankers in the United States, who have been reading about the massive Federal criminal case, in New York, known as the the CHEN ZHI/ Cambodia-based Pig Butchering PRINCE GROUP case may not know all the details, but we have analyzed the entire Indictment, as there are multiple money laundering schemes depicted therein, and we wish to report on an aspect of the defendants' conduct that verifies the ongoing national security threat to the United States; the use of Citizenship by Investment (CBI/CIP) passports from the Eastern Caribbean, to facilitate their complex racketeering operation.
The Indictment specifies that a number of the lead defendants held, and employed, CBI passports from SAINT KITTS & NEVIS, and SAINT LUCIA, including the kingpin, CHEN ZHI, and that they used those CBI identity documents regularly in Singapore and Hong Kong, as part of the money laundering phase of their criminal conspiracy. The United States Government has repeatedly of late charged that the tens of thousands of SKN and SLC CBI passports sold to applicants who are career criminals from China and Asia, without any effective due diligence being conducted upon their backgrounds.
A number of Chinese nationals with Caribbean CBI passports have been arrested in the US and elsewhere, for financial crime, industrial espionage and other Federal crimes. We have reported on several of those cases, and will continue to detail any new indictments as they are made public.
