IIM Falling off its High Horse by COSIMO |
If you carefully read all the latest articles appearing in the Maltese press, concerning the proposed American legislation that will block foreign nationals from countries where they offer Citizenship by Investment passports from participation in the US Visa Waiver programme, you notice that nowhere do these journalists disclose that ordinary Maltese will be required to apply for, and obtain, a visa to enter the United States.
If the articles had made that assertion, you would probably see immediate, and very negative, reaction from the Maltese public, who have relied upon Visa Waiver to enter the US at will, Now businessmen, professionals, tourists, charitable organization staff, job applicants, students and everyone else in Malta will have to deal with the American Embassy, to apply for a visa, and experience the normal wait times, and sometimes denial, by US authorities.
Where is the massive protest by civil society, other NGOs, and PN, not to mention the tourism industry, begging PL to seek an exemption for Malta ? We are wondering who is asleep in Malta, regarding this new hurdle, brought about by the greedy Labour government, and those who sell CBI passports to Russians affiliated with Vladimir Putin. Wake up, Malta. Terminate IIM, or suffer your own version of the Iron Curtain being installed around you.
