IMMIGRATION CONSULTING FIRM NAMED IN $18m GRENADA SUSTAINABLE AQUACULTURE SCANDAL WAS NOT LICENSED IN CANADA

Victims seeking restitution in the eighteen million dollar Grenada Sustainable Aquaculture scandal have indicated that they were instructed to send their $275k investment payments to a Toronto company, AKROS GLOBAL, also known as AKROS & PARTNERS, which holds itself out as an immigration consultancy. Included in the services the company offers are Canadian and US residency and citizenship.

It is neither qualified, nor licensed, to provide such services to the public; additionally the entity has no legal existence in Canada, as it has not been incorporated there under either name, according to a Federal Corporation search. A check of the records of Canada's immigration regulatory agency, the ICCRC, (Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council) fails to show any license, as required by law, to engage in immigration work, under either Akros Global, or Akros & Partners.

Akros' website shows that its principal address is in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, but victims of the GSA scam were directed to send their investment payments to Akros in Dubai, UAE, where the company maintains an office within a local hotel. There is no indication that it holds any professional  license to provide immigration consultancy services there, either.

The owner of Akros, Soren Anders Dawody, a Swedish national, born June, 1985, likewise has no ICCRC license; Dawody and the firm are in violation of Canadian law when providing advice and service to clients, regarding immigration and residency matters involving Canada. He resides in the Toronto area, in a home reportedly valued at USD$3m.
